Taste the Place (white)

... where food from our past, nourishes our future

Coming soon

About the campaign

As part of Glasgow's 850th Anniversary celebrations, Taste the Place will provide the chance for locals and visitors to learn more about the history of Glasgow's hospitality scene - by eating their way around the city.

Launching April 2025, our FREE self-guided digital trail will take individuals on a cultural and culinary journey through Glasgow. Taste the Place promises to serve up plenty of unique experiences, captivating stories, and mouth-watering dishes from independent businesses who all call Glasgow home.

Partnering with over 40 eateries, this heritage trail is a must for food lovers, offering authentic and sustainable dishes by those who've been in the city for generations, or have recently made Glasgow their home. You can expect to find everything from a 100-year-old ice-cream parlour loved by local celebs, an Italian bistro housed within the UK's only remaining tram shelter, and Glasgow's oldest sweetie shop, to new and emerging international cuisines including an innovative plant-based bakery and south-east Asian street food served from a hole-in-the-wall.

Download the digital map, explore at your own pace, and savour the inspiring stories behind each bite.

Join the party

Taste the Place will be one of the cornerstone events in the Glasgow 850 programme next year and we’d like to hear from you if you’d be interested in becoming the campaign’s headline partner. To discuss this opportunity further please contact:
