It’s hard to choose! We love the frangipane tarts, savoury “ricotta” parcels, and cinnamon buns.
What's the inspiration behind Honeytrap Bakery?
Amélie and Adam settled in Glasgow to study Film and Television in 2009, but their paths didn’t cross until 2017, when they were brought together by their love of film and food. Working for some of the UK’s leading bakeries, including the Tate Modern, Tantrum Doughnuts, and Glasgow’s Cottonrake Bakery, Amélie realised her passion for baking. Putting her film making ambitions on hold while seeking the freedom to evolve her innovative plant-based recipes, the pair opened Honeytrap Bakery in 2021.
This fully plant-based menu, using organic British flour and palm-oil free ingredients, is guaranteed to tempt even the staunchest of vegan sceptics. So much so that Amélie’s delicious semlors (traditional Swedish cream-filled brioche buns served around Easter time) are regularly questioned about their vegan credentials!
“We often get people coming in asking if we have any plant-based options, and when we tell them ‘everything,’ they’re genuinely surprised. It’s nice to see people light up when they suddenly have more options.” Adam Sinclair, Honeytrap Bakery.
Keep a sharp eye on the bakery’s socials and make sure to arrive early so you’re not left disappointed!

What role does Honeytrap Bakery play in creating a sense of community and belonging?
According to Adam, “community spirit” helped drive the small team towards launching their physical premises after building up a loyal delivery, wholesale and pop-up business following. Since opening, the bakery has become a place for customers to expand their plant-based horizons, acting as a catalyst towards eating a more sustainable diet.

Fun fact – did you know?
Where does the name come from? The bakery’s name came after the couple read in the news of someone being honey trapped. For them, it summed up them wanting to lure customers in with a great looking product, without necessarily knowing it’s plant-based.
