The MacSween’s haggis (it’s not just for Burn’s night!) or homemade Cullen skink.
What's the inspiration behind Mharsanta?
Husband and wife, Derek and Sophie, met working in the hospitality sector where they both enjoyed successful careers. Eventually, they decided to launch their own group of independent restaurants, including Glasgow’s Van Winkle Bourbon Bar, and Mharsanta, offering the best of Scottish produce.
Mharsanta, (meaning ‘merchant’ in Scots Gaelic) serves up a homemade taste of Scotland, accompanied by toe tapping traditional Celtic music. The restaurant prides itself on sourcing local ingredients to craft Scottish classics including MacSween’s haggis, neeps and tatties, Shetland Island mussels, and Cullen skink. Served alongside an impressive menu of local whiskies, gins, and craft beers, Mharsanta is the ideal spot for celebrating a special occasion.
Mharsanta also offers an award-winning dining experience designed to immerse guests in the sights and sounds of the country. The five-course menu showcases some of the best Scottish food and whisky that “allows guests to enjoy an authentic, homemade taste of Scotland in a truly accessible way.” Derek Mallon, Mharsanta.
