Taste the Place - don’t miss:
The Amandine desert, a chocolate layered cake filled with chocolate, rum, and fondant cream.
What's the inspiration behind Transylvania Shop and Coffee?
Moving to Scotland from the Transylvanian region of Romania, it was fitting that Dani and Alex’s business reflected their roots and passion for food, while bringing the legend of Dracula to Scotland.
Opening its doors in 2020, Transylvania Shop and Coffee is branded with Bram Stoker’s Dracula – but don’t be fooled into thinking it only sells Halloween accessories. Far from it! Alongside a bottle of Dracula’s Desire (that’s for you to discover) and a bag of blood-orange bon bons, you’ll find some of Romania’s finest wines, spirits, cheeses and sweet treats.
Enjoying a coffee on the shop’s outdoor terrace amongst the fun decor, you’ll be forgiven for feeling like you’ve been transported from Govanhill straight to Transylvania!

Offer from this venue
Traditional Sweet Papanani doughnuts
£3.50
Experience a taste of Romania with their Traditional Sweet Papanasi Doughnuts — golden, fluffy, and served with rich sour cream and tangy fruit preserve, just like in Transylvania.
What role does Transylvania Shop and Coffee play in creating a sense of community and belonging?
Keen to demonstrate that good food should be accessible to all, Dani and Alex work hard to provide affordable premium goods. Transylvania Shop and Coffee also supports various outreach projects within Glasgow’s wider community. They regularly invest time fundraising for local charities, providing free stalls at their Christmas market for local crafters, and donating hampers to local families in need over Christmas and Easter.

Fun fact – did you know?
The bats on their logo not only portray Bram Stoker’s 1897 Dracula but are also an important nod to Transylvania’s rare and protected silver–haired bat colony.
